Developing resilience through leaders
Pressure at work these days is a given, but not all pressure is bad. Appropriate levels of pressure will motivate the members of your workforce and if they are resilient when times are tough they will perform more effectively. Leaders have a responsibility for managing their workgroups in a way that builds-in resilience and provides the levels of support required. They must also ensure that levels of challenge are sufficiently high to motivate their staff. But staff also have a role to play in ensuring that they, themselves, have the personal resources required to cope with pressure and stress. The organisation should, of course, provide resources and support here, but employees have to want to change their mindset and behaviour.
Robertson Cooper offers support to ensure that your workforce has the levels of resilience it requires to deliver sustainable high performance. We offer leadership development that connects the leader to his/her workgroup using our assessment Leadership Impact, which provides a new understanding of the leader’s impact. We also offer resilience and pressure management training courses for managers and staff members which provide the skills required to cope effectively with workplace stress. Under Pressure, our e-learning resource is a fully interactive course which staff can work through independently, as and when they need it.
