Lily has recently joined the Robertson Cooper team as a Marketing Executive. Lily is a proud Aussie (go the Wallabies) and has relocated to Manchester after travelling the world. In Australia, Lily worked in marketing for a healthcare organisation.

What would you choose—to scroll through your friend’s social media pictures of the beach or to feel the sand under your feet; read a romance novel or to experience the intensity of first love; watch a cooking show or sit in a café in Italy, freshly made pasta on your fork?

Real experiences are so powerful. They invite emotion and stimulate thought. Nothing can compare to taking in the surrounds of an experience; the unique smells—someone’s perfume, freshly cooked food—and sounds—like music—that can bring you right back to a moment in time.

Last week, I volunteered to take on a single tasking challenge. Inspired by Geri Hirsch’s blog, I recognised that, like her, I have become very much a full time multi-tasker and perhaps it was time to start doing things in a more focused and mindful way. I was curious about science suggesting that single-tasking is better for your brain, that multi-tasking is a myth, so I wanted to see what the results would be.
