A Design Guide To Workplace Wellbeing: Person, Place And Standards

Following the success of Good Day at Work 2017 in March, which saw leading figures like Alastair Campbell and Matthew Syed address over 200 senior HR practitioners, we wanted to keep the wellbeing conversation going!

So on the 22nd of June 2017, we invited delegates to an interactive workshop-style that focussed on how person, place and standards can be combined to deliver an integrated approach to workplace wellbeing.

We were delighted to partner with British Land to host the event in the stunning surroundings of their Paddington Central Hub, designed and built to maximise employee health. It was s a genuinely inspiring venue for an event dedicated to creating good days at work for everyone, everywhere.

On the day we brought together a group of experts to discuss the key elements of a truly strategic approach to managing health and wellbeing :

  • Person - workplace wellbeing specialists, Robertson Cooper
  • Place – physical environment experts and property owners, British Land
  • Standards – originators of the research-based WELL Building Standard and experts in how to apply it inside your organisation, the International Well Building Institute, alongside Robertson Cooper who support wellbeing strategy development for the biggest and best

Delegates heard short presentations from each partner, leading into an interactive panel discussion to bring their perspectives together. After lunch, there was a hands-on exercise to help delegates work on their own strategic wellbeing approach. They were guided through a process to explore standards around person and place to help drive more good days at work, and help them to create tangible plans to take away and action.

The day ended with a tour of the Paddington Central campus by its owners British Land. For a full roundup of the event, visit British Land's Office Agenda site.
