Develop engaging leaders

Our approach: Develop engaging leaders

It’s hard to over-estimate the impact of leaders and managers on the wellbeing and engagement of their teams. Leaders often have big personalities and strong views, whilst being in positions of power at the top of the business. So the way your senior staff behave strongly influences the culture of the organisation - for better or for worse.

We can help you to develop leaders who create positive, purposeful work environments where challenge and support are balanced – and where the '6 Essentials' of workplace wellbeing are maximised. When this happens workgroups are engaged and motivated to deliver high levels of performance, while absence and presenteeism become easier to manage.

Taking a step back, it’s easy to see why no integrated approach to wellbeing and engagement is complete without a leadership development element. As well as defining the culture, the leadership group and the performance of its members is key to the success of the enterprise. In this sense the wellbeing and resilience of the leaders themselves is also centrally important to any business.

We have a wide range of development solutions for leaders at all levels – from the top team and your senior management down to first line managers. It’s important not to forget this level – after all ‘people don’t leave companies, they leave managers’ – so ensuring that line managers understand and manage their impact is key for retaining your best employees.

By focusing leadership development on the '6 Essentials' of workplace wellbeing we reconnect leaders with the impact that their natural style has on the organisation. It takes a structured intervention to raise awareness at this level and to achieve this we use our own Leadership Impact approach. It includes a tool that has been specifically designed to map leadership behaviour onto the '6 Essentials' of workplace wellbeing.

  • Reconnect leaders with their workgroups and the organisation’s wellbeing situation.
  • Create a leadership culture that generates, rather than saps, wellbeing.
  • Create more effective teams and workgroups, characterised by a balance between challenge and support.
  • Improve staff retention.
  • Develop resilient leaders and, in turn, a resilient organisation.
  • Keep pressure positive in your business.
